Watch it very carefully. If i was a betting man it will happen again because i bet it stripped it out. Hope this isn't the case for you though

I've heard of people being lucky like that. I've never been that lucky. Of course my plug blowouts were under boost.

I'm sure with the right amount of time and tools it can sometimes be done on the block still. I have yet to mess with one when it breaks. I normally just pull the head and take it in to be pulled.

It's not that hard at all in the vehicle. If you can change a plug, you can tap and install an insert. The kit makes it easy.

Well I drove it about five miles and it all seems good. The check engine light came on for the first time in the trucks life but I guess its because I started it with a vacum hose disconected. I will watch it close. It backing all the way out makes little since to me to but it tightened up pretty good

should some one give him a ft lbs or in lbs with a tourque wrench

I was referring to a plug breaking off. The kits for re tapping are very user friendly

Oh, my bad. Yeah, that could be fairly nasty.

My route truck at work has blown 4 plugs out of its 5.4. It sounds like you unhooked your exhaust when it blows out.
