Fish fry and pool party, my place

Hammered the crappie today. 1 1/2 hours fishing resulted in 29 crappie and 3 sandies.

Ol dad had a boat dock at Bluestem lake and he would haul em in there this time of year back in the day, he would have loved to have seen all them tasty crappie.

Dropping straight down resulted in no hits.

Throwing about 20', and letting the jigs "swim" down until the line got almost straight, and jigging it one time always resulted in a slight bump.

At the bump, set the hook.

I think they were following it until the jigs stopped, and then looking at it. jigging it one time, got the hit.

Beautiful day. Zero wind, perfect temps.

I grew up thinking the crappie spawn was the only time to catch them in numbers.
