Fishing around OKC this late?

My son, who is 6 wants to go fishing today or tomorrow. I have not fished this late in a long time and am not sure whether it will even be worthwhile. We bank fish with live bait generally for panfish and whatever else will bite. I have some canned crickets I have wanted to try.

He likes Crystal lake and Dolese. We live near Hefner but have not had luck there. Apparently I don't know the secret bank spots there. Any chance we catch a few fish this late? Or, anyone know of another spot around OKC worthwhile?

I hear the crappie been hitting real well at Lake McMurtry. That is a little ways from you but if they are biting her, maybe they are biting there too. Good luck with the little guy.

Crystal is all fished out. You can try the lake by the Zoo/Remington Park. I always see folks bank fishing there.
