This was walking along a breezy/rocky dam of a small lake. Most fish were caught within a 10yd cast.

Good strategy. Years ago saw some ODW wildlife biologists shocking a cove on a lake.
When they were done, pulled up to them and asked what in their opinion was the best part of the lake to fish when the winds were blowing.
The windy side of the lake was their answer.
As the waves crash, they bring out the bait fish and crawdads hiding under the rocks.
Apparently you knew that. Good day!

This year I`ve only fished a fly 5wt fly rod and my 13ft Tenkara rod.
No great numbers but I`m feeling the tug and having fun...
