be careful buying one of these second hand. We've been through a couple of these (love them in general!) but the vacuum pump tends to be the first thing to go

yeah you would definately want to make sure the vacuum still works on it.

Bought mine off Craigslist years ago for $15, it really sucked, still sucks.
WOW, that really sucks. Was thinking I would just spend the bucks and get a new one, but do they suck, too? Wally-world has Food Saver and Ziplock models. They had Rival before Christmas, but not stocking them anymore and have clearanced the Rival Brand bags. My head is starting to hurt and that really sucks.
