This June, I will "celebrate" 35 years in law enforcement. I thought I would buy myself an LE type of challenge coin and a leather slip for it to carry in me pocket as just a little sumthin' to remind me of the good and bad times I've experienced in that time.

I already have a leather slip picked out. It's by a company called Speakeasy Leather...

I plan on getting one in navy blue badalassi carlo leather with blue thread and a brass grommet. I just can't decide on a specific coin. Anybody got any ideas or can turn me on to a company that makes em? I've seen several on Amazon, but they don't really blow my skirt up. :disappoin

This is the closest I've come to getting a challenge coin. And I only have that because In N Out is my client. 😁 Unfortunately I have no plans to go to Denton for a burger anytime soon (that's the closest INO site).

Got a question, if one has an armed forces challenge coin, is that stolen valor? I only have a couple USCCA challenge coins, just curious.

I guess it would really depend on how you were using it

Like my post with the CIA coin , if you lead off by being upfront and stating a buddy or a client gave you this coin -- i dont think anyone would see any problems. Other scenarios which would likely be not egregious

But If you proudly flash a SERE coin, but were never in the armed forces and regale everyone at Henry Hudson's with tales of flying black helicopters over Honduras - that would be frowned upon , but since there is no intent to receive any monetary gain, -- its protected under the first amendment

The 2013 Act makes it a federal crime to fraudulently claim to be a recipient of certain military decorations or medals in order to obtain money, property, or other tangible benefits though

My dad and I got these amazing challenge coins when we participated in the Oklahoma Warriors Honor Flight last year. What an amazing 1-day trip to Washington DC to celebrate our Oklahoma veterans. You can find more info here - https://oklahomawarriors.org/ - you can nominate a veteran or volunteer as a guardian.
