I would have called the DHS "If you see something, say something" hotline since they have their scare campaign showing on Walmart telescreens. Should have asked for Janet Napolidyketano personallly and told her you found a suspicious purse left in a WalMart and it may contain a bomb.

Chances are, the whole time you're looking at the purse you're also on security camera. How does that look if you take it to your car and drive off. The security camera does not see your intentions, only your actions.

Yup, you did the right thing.[/QUOT

EXACTLY. Camera angels in some wal-marts are like casinos. It makes you think twice about scratching sometimes.

Roger that. One of my vises in life is true forensic crime shows and it is amazing how many crimes are solved via Walmart surveillance video. If anyone is considering doing anything stupid I wouldn't suggest doing it at Walmart, not even in the parking lots.

I agree that you did the right thing. I think the person who lost it would retrace their steps and check with the store to see if it were turned in. They will be glad you were honest and responsible.

You realize she would have had every Wal Mart in the world locked down looking for the one that had the bomb. Then when someone figured out you meant the purse, lord help all those white males between 28 & 40 carruying a man purse.

To the Op, right move, you can't be responsible for what might or might not happen. If someone found my man purse all I would want to know who to thank.

I'm old, but I would have done the same thing you did. If more people would just take the time and do the little things that are right, thiis country would be a better place to live in.

Winter 2010-2011 my wife found a purse at target on memorial and penn. she was going to take it to customer service and I told her not to. It had a little over $500 cash, and iPhone all her credit cards. She argued with me for a few mins and I told her they would just steal the money. So we went though her iPhone and called a few different number in her phone and she came and picked it up and gave us $100 for keeping it safe. We tried not to let her give us the money but she was so thankful. I don't trust anyone at customer service when they look like there under 21yrs old. People make me sick some times.
