Tell that to the former Soviet SOCIALIST Republic. The standard of mediocrity created by those socialist policies you advocate destroyed that operation. Socialism=Zero incentive to perform past a basic subsistence level. Those humans and their nature will screw it up every time.

It's kind of a cop out to just say, aw we'll screw it up. Human "nature" does not have to be human history, and while you may think we'll steal, kill, whatever, I'm fairly certain you and I would be amazed at what distributed resources might accomplish. And there's not zero incentive at all. The USSR still pioneered many sciences. You think people only do good out of greed? Of course you do, that's the capitalist motto. There can still be fame, fortune, RESPECT, admiration, all the things that motivate human beings anywhere. There's no reason to think people just become any more automatons than the mass-consumers we are all here in America. Did you watch Honey-Boo boo today or go to Wal-Mart?

Could you provide us with a working example in the real world? Any countries, states or loosely aligned set of affiliates that utilize this model?

I can't think of any, not really certain if there are any. But I guess that's what they said before this country we all love. Non-hierarchical societies have existed on Earth before, in human history. Fairly recent history, and some even still exist.

For what it's worth, I can think of several simple examples that utilize the model. Do you or have you ever worked at a place with a water cooler? Probably every week your supply of Colligan or whatever water jugs are replenished. Every day, that water is distributed and drank by all employees. Not any one person claims it, yet all have the supply available. A person can take a cup of water, and it is theirs. That person could still trade said cup of water, or give it to any other person. There is no exchange of worthless money, there is no profit gained for a simple 1 to 1 function. At any point, someone could steal all the jugs of water, but did they, have they? Would they? No, because they are certain that more is available. We are fortunate enough to live in a country with enough resources to supply every single person. Every single one. So there's that. Honestly, just look around. Some successful businesses, and some religious institutions operate on a similar socialist model. What resources exist are just kind of....there. If you take too much, someone's gonna say something. Hell, Oklahoma was the most socialist state in the USA.

Well, at least you have the dogma down pat. I know, "Just because you can't strike a kitchen match on a wet bar of soap don't mean it won't happen some day." We can Hope that it will Change. You answered the question in the thread. Take a look at the Nobel Prize op for a good example of do-gooder logic. What motivates humans to create parasitical forms of government is POWER. Power is much more insidious than greed.

That is why you cannot cite ANY successful examples of a functioning parasite.

It's water... try that with gold bars and see what happens.

In fact, put the gold bars in the middle of a church and see what happens.

Put the gold bars in the middle of a church AND put up a note saying "there is plenty more where this came from, so please don't take all of it", and see what happens.
