I missed out on all that. When I was in Basic Training in 1966 at Fort Leonard Wood, I contracted the measles and was in the hospital when my company went through the obstacle course. Missed night firing because of that as well. There was only one other GI that go the measles on that go-round. What was really interesting was that to "isolate" me, I was put in a ward with GI's having Bronchitis and Upper Respiratory Infections.
