What happens if you ceracote threads, is it thick enough to cause problems? What about barrels, does it affect the rifling? It may sound like a silly question, I tried to get a rifle teflon coated once and was told that he could not protect the rifling.

I don't know, it's pretty thin stuff, so the threads may be okay. I wouldn't leave the barrel open to it though, but rather plug it at both ends.

Thin or not, all of it could possibly affect accuracy, I would think.

1+ for plug both ends, then clean up the bead of paint where you took out the cork with some thinner on a Q-tip.

I do all kinds of coatings and all but the heavy duty epoxies dry down to allow threading.

When Parkerizing I protect the barrel by lining it with paint and then desolve the paint after the chemicals are washed away. I guess teflon is a different process though.
