I just recently was given a Marlin 336 from my father. I would like to install a Uncle Mikes QD Super swivels for a sling. Only problem is I am scared to death I will crack the stock if I try to install these myself. Anyone know of someone in the Tulsa area who could help. It's a very simple job but the gun is to important for me to try myself. Thanks for the input.

All you need to do is pilot drill the hole and screw in the Sling studs.

+1, its not that hard, I took a chance and did it to my lakefield mkii, came out nice. The LGS that i bought the swivel stud from told me to put soap on the threads of the stud, it will prevent cracking the wood. I understand you dont want to take a chance messing up, I would most definatly recomend Fransons for any gunsmithing, One of the nicest couple ive meet.
