Indeed. My former neighbor planted the stuff along his fence, and neglected to prune it until the main vines got to be a couple inches thick. It took him most of a day to cut down the stuff and extricate it from the chain link.

Same at out old house, it went from a very small starter plant into taking over the whole backyard in about 3-4 years.

When I bought my plant it was 5' tall, bushy and covered in blooms. That was 3 yrs ago... hasn't bloomed since. It is in a good sunny location.. and gets fairly regular water. Hoping it takes off this next yr. I'm thinking the excessive heat we've had early in the spring the last few years might have kept it from blooming.

Don't do it!!!!! It's invasive ... It and trumpet vine are IMPOSSIBLE to get rid of when you are sick and tired of having to prune it all the time ...

I have one in my yard. I keep it pruned to make it grow a trunk like a tree. Gets a big canopy of blooms. The bumble bees love it.

Slowly, slowly, it's creeping from a corral pipe fence to the corner of my barn. Someday it's gonna be a polesaw problem. Pretty, but keep an eye on it.
