Here's some data on Whitneyville Armory rifles. Should be able to get lots of great info here. I believe caliber should be stamped on the barrel somewhere, thought I'm not sure where.
Edit: Caliber should be on the barrel, directly on top and just in front of the receiver.

Edit 2: it appears this is a Whitneyville Armory Style II Rolling Block. The website above shows one in .52 center-fire, which I would guess is what you have. IT's close to the 50-70 Gov't Sharps ammo. This is that rifles competitor.
