Hey Tulsa Crew,

I'm in need of some casino help. The first two are in and around the Tulsa area.

1. What is the name of the casino on South Riverside Drive...maybe Jenks area.
If I know the name I can look it up. Any positive reviews on this casino?

2. Hard Rock in Catoosa? Positive reviews??

Kansas City: Are there any casinos in the K.C. area? What are their names and any positive reviews on them?

We (wife and I) have an extended weekend next week and want something close.

Thanks!!

Happy 4th of July...Independence Day!!

River Spirit over on south Riverside drive. They don't have a hotel that I know of. Never stayed at the hard rock. I did stay at the Wind Star World Resort on I-35 next to Texas. It was pretty good and you have Dallas some what near. Never went K.C. to a casino. Hope that helps.

There are several in the KC area. They are all "Riverboats." I know some people that frequent Harrah's and they seem to enjoy it.

River Spirit (Jenks area) has no hotel (yet)
Hard Rock is the only place I have ever seen someone win two cents on a nickle slot. That being said they have great food and amenities. (Hurry Penn and Teller are tonight.)

I stayed at the Hard Rock back when it was just the Cherokee casino with one hotel tower and it was very nice. I enjoyed playing poker there but their slots are stingy. Better slots in OK, at least that I've had success at, is the Downwind just off the Will Rogers Turnpike just before you enter MO. The hotel seemed a little pricey so I used some Marriott points to stay in Joplin.

The riverboats in KC are OK but I've only spent a couple of hours at the Harrah's.

I stayed at the Hard Rock one night, in a suite - it was very nice. Just be sure to ask at the front desk for a non-meth lab room :wink2:

For a weekend getaway,.. I would only suggest the Hard Rock in Catoosa, the Downstream near Joplin or the Choctaw casino in Durant. Those are the nicest ones I have been to here in Oklahoma. The Hard Rock is the most developed, with good music, good food and a non-smoking section. None of them pay well,.. otherwise they couldn't afford to build these huge casinos.

Are you wanting to just gamble? You want to see anything else? If just straight gambling,.. all 3 will work. If you want to go see anything else,.. the Hard Rock. Tulsa is a great town with lots of things to see.

Hey Blue Baby -- What band are you in? You playing the Fusion/Friction/ whatever it's called now club or the country pop-up tent smokehole?? Lol,.. I hate playing back there,... I felt like I smoked 2 cartons of cigs after that gig. Have a good show.

Smoke wasn't bad last time, used to be really bad. Stage sucks even worse since the remodel. But still a decent gig.
