Agreed. Don't know what the big infatuation is with "tax returns". If someone is doing something illegal, the IRS would have caught it already, you don't think Obama had the IRS go thru his tax records with a fine tooth comb?

I hope Trump has used every loophole in existence to lower his taxes, it's what every Red-blooded American should do. Why is it frowned upon to know the tax code and use it to your advantage?

As well as I can remember, the release of tax returns was started by politicians to reveal to the public if their income was legal and on the up and up since they do insider trading, accept gifts they shouldn't from people they shouldn't.
Trump didn't fall into the category of politician and he didn't accept gifts from lobbyists or have the ability to do insider trading as politicians do at times. Trump's income was solely from the private sector so why should he release his tax returns unless he wants to to give liberals something to gossip about?

Maybe conflicts of interest due to Enoluments Clause by doing business and profiting for foreign countries.

That's kind of my point. Just because previous candidates have chosen to publicize their returns doesn't mean it's suddenly "our business" for all future candidates.

To be honest, Trump did contribute to several liberal organizations as a businessman. He knew he had to pad the fleece to curry favor with both sides to get construction contracts. That's how the system works in the big time world sadly. That's how it works in Congress as well on both sides of the aisle.
