I have a home that is 23 years old, with a brand new roof as of January that was paid for out of pocket. Never filed an insurance claim in my life, and my premiums are about 1.25% of my homes value. This amount is almost double what it was when I bought 6 years ago. I’ve shopped around and switched twice since the pandemic alone.

I get that my homes value has also increased since then, but not at the same rate as the insurance for it!
