...to fix a safety button on a Mossberg 500 shotgun?

I found one today for $175.

It looks a little rough and the safety is all boogered up. It definitely is gonna need replacing. The top button, guts...everything!

Is this an expensive project? Or something kinda simple?

safetys not too hard.
Parts should be available from brownells. probably no more than $20-25 ish.

If I buy this thang, can you do it, ol buddy? :comfort:

Whoever had it has put a phillips head screw thru the middle of it. :ooh2:

Why? I dunno. But it is completely trashed and unusable. The scattergun pumps and trigger pulls thru fine. Thank God they broke it in the "fire" position. :rolleyes2

You think it's a bad deal?

Mossberg 500A. Wooden furniture. 18" tube.

Why would somebody stick a screw in there? If it was to manipulate the safety, I could kinda see that, but it won't budge.

Because they only come with synthetic stock and forearm.

The Mav is a helluva scattergun, by the way. :thumb:

If I bought the Mav then I'd hafta search for some wooden furniture and then I'd hafta take it somewhere to get it put on, and then, after all that, I would hate to subject it to harsh weather because the finish will be all pristine and purdy. :blahblah:

If it's already beat up, I won't worry about the finish so much. :ugh2:

Yeah...I know. :screwy:

Hmmm...maybe not. :saywhat:

Hopefully somebody here will have one sitting in the corner collecting dust they'll wanna get rid of. :D
Well I have a single shot that fits that description. An old 16 ga that's been shot so much that the barrel looks paper thin. Honestly, my dad was afraid of it. But grampa's the one that shot it thin. And he'd still be shooting it if he were here. Don't suppose that would do you any good though. :sorry4:
