It's still a false equivalency. It's also a red herring.
The only thing we should be talking about is why these refugees aren't being taken by other Muslim countries. We've paid them many trillions of dollars for oil, yet we're expected to spend the money we no longer have to ship them all the way over here? Why?
Until you can answer that question, all other questions are completely irrelevant.
I doubt that muslim refugees are a trojan horse for the importation of jihadis. But the intolerance of Islam for other religions is unacceptable. It prevents assimilation to the cultural values of the West by a large portion of those living here. Without religious tolerance and acceptance of western cultural values it is a bad deal and one we should not allow. A culture has the right to pick and choose among immigrants. It is not prejudice but rather self-preservation.
Farmerbyron, the context has changed greatly since those words were written. At that time there was no question that immigrants would learn english and become integrated fully. Also there was no welfare to retard the process.

The Islamists come here to change our culture, not to assimilate. They are neither attracted to nor envious of our culture. Their goal is to enslave us under their culture. We are having enough trouble fending off the progressive liberals who have promised to, and are engaged in changing our country into a state run socialist/communist/fascist dictatorship, and don't need a second faction nipping at our heels, undermining the foundations of our republic, lying to us, bleeding us dry, and stomping on the rights we rely upon to keep ourselves free.
We need our freedom of speech to be able to spread the truth when they hobble us with political correctness and treat us like mushrooms.
We need our arms to stop them when they come with chains and guns to disarm and enslave us.

Vetting will not ferret them all out - if any at all - nor will it expose those already here. Say, "No". It is clear that enough of those in power will ignore our demands, ignore the law, ignore the Constitution, and ignore common sense to allow them in. Therefore, prepare yourself to act where those we entrusted with power to secure us will not secure us, and will likely place us under more jeopardy than we currently find ourselves.
Pray we are still free enough to vote the bastards out of power, and that those in power will fear us too much to stay in power.
