In 2014, four terrorism-related incidents involving Muslim-Americans – two using firearms, one a knife, and one a hatchet -- killed seven people in 2014, bringing the total number of fatalities
in the United States from terrorism by Muslim-Americans since 9/11 to 50.

In the same time there have been over 200,000 murders.

Farmerbyron, the context has changed greatly since those words were written. At that time there was no question that immigrants would learn english and become integrated fully. Also there was no welfare to retard the process.

Assault weapons were not even envisioned back when the second amendment was written. The implications of those words has changed greatly since they were written.

About the assimilation of immigrants, first generation immigrants have always held on to their home culture. It's why there have always been ethnically homogenous neighborhoods like Chinatowns, little Italy, Mexican burrios, etc. Usually the second generation is much more assimilated than their parents as they are brought up in the American experience. Continue on with the xenophobia if you must.
