Mark your calendar for October 12, 2013, the next scheduled USSA IDPA match
date. Remember:

1. We will shoot an IDPA Classifier as 3 of the 6 or so match stages. As a
result total match round count will be closer to 150 rounds as the
Classifier requires 90 rounds by itself.
2. We can always use help setting up Friday afternoon October 11th after
4:00 p.m. so if you can make it to help please let me or Darrell West know.
Darrell's e-mail is [email protected]
3. We normally try to start shooting at 10 a.m., however, as the new rule
book takes effect on October 1, we will take a little time prior to shooting
to go over the some of the highlights of the new rule changes. In the
interim go to the IDPA web site and download an Adobe Acrobat "pdf" copy of
the new rules and read through it to get familiar with it please!

Congratulations to the following Oklahoma area IDPA shooters and their
trophy winning performances at the 2013 IDPA National Championship Match
held at USSA last week! Great shooting all!

CDP Marksman - Randy Nance - 1st Place (and a bump to CDP Sharpshooter!)
ESP Master - Eric Fuson - 2nd Place
ESP Sharpshooter - Jared Lavarnway - 4th Place
ESP Marksman - Peter Navesky - 3rd Place (and a bump to ESP Sharpshooter!)
ESP Marksman - Phil Layman - 7th Place
ESR Marksman - Brad Ludolph - 1st Place
SSP Sharpshooter - Stan Nance - 2nd Place (and a bump to SSP Expert I
think?)
SSP Sharpshooter - C.K. Panter - 4th Place
SSP Sharpshooter - Jason Hefley - 8th Place
SSP Marksman - Shawn Bevenue - 1st Place (Shawn was over 2nd place by just
0.26 seconds! A tight finish! And did you get bumped also?)
SSP Marksman - Michelle Ludolph - 4th Place
SSP Marksman - Ron Denton - 6th Place

There is a web page where the 2013 National Match photos, taken by
professional shooting sports photographer Yamil Sued, are being added that
you can peruse and purchase either hard or electronic copies if you so
desire. As of Thursday mid-afternoon not all photos had been posted (They
had posted Day 1 into Day 4 and were lacking some of Day 4, Day 5, and the
Awards Ceremony), but I expect them to complete loading them by this
weekend. Go to http://photos.idpa.com and select the 2013 National
Championship. They are then sub-listed as Day 1 through Day 5, Awards
Ceremony, and Hospitality night photos. I have seen many of the OK area
shooters photos posted so far. When they get the Awards Ceremony photos
posted look towards the end of that run for one photo with just about most
all of the OK IDPA shooters in it who stayed after the end of the ceremony
to get a group shot.

On November 3rd Jack Ostendorf will be hosting an IDPA Safety Officer
certification and training session at Oil Capitol Rod & Gun club. PLEASE
e-mail him at [email protected] if you are interested in taking this session
and becoming a certified IDPA Safety Officer. We can sure use you to help
us and help this hooting sport!!!

Lastly - For those of you that use Android operating system phones there is
now an Android OS app available called "Shot Clock" that will turn your
Android phone into a shot timer. The cost is just $2.99 and to access it go
to the following website:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ogburn.shotclock
I recommend giving it a try considering the cost of a shot timer can run
closer to $130 per timer! But for me, being a Government employee
Blackberry user whose only other personal Android OS device is an Amazon
Kindle Fire, there is no Joy in Mudville for me! Darn it! I do not know if
it will work on an iPhone OS though?
