2nd post is the link and my origional question.
Per quote from moneybags:

"my experience with PSA products overall have been very positive. They offer some of the best priced milspec kits around. you need to know what your looking for and read the descriptions carefully as they offer different "grades" of kits. The only real issue i have been made aware of is the long lead times on receiving orders. maybe that is better now that the rush has subsided some, i dont know.
The specs listed in that description tell me it is their better set ups. the barrels in that kit should be FN manufacture which is nice.
I am pasting those specs here for everyone to see.

Barrel: 16", Chrome-lined, Chrome Moly Vanadium Steel, M4 profile, 5.56 NATO chamber with a 6-groove, 1:7 right-hand twist , chrome-lined bore, High pressure tested and Mag particle inspected, carbine-length gas port, and M4 feedramps. Barrels are finished off with a taper pinned, f-marked, front sight post, standard handguards, and an A2 flash hider. Barrel is made for PSA by FN right here in South Carolina.

Upper: Forged 7075-T6 A3 AR upper is made to MIL-SPECS and hard coat anodized black for durability. Featuring machined T marks, and a mil-spec finish. These uppers are made for us right here in the USA by a mil-spec manufacturer.

Bolt: Bolt is made of Mil-spec shot-peened Carpenter 158 steel. Gas key is secured with grade 8 fasteners and staked per mil-spec. Bolt carrier is parkerized outside, and chrome lined inside.

The bold parts are the important points. I have heard a rumor that they are sourcing the uppers from FN as well, which is another check mark in the win column.

As an aside, you will probably get alot better response if you post this in the rifle section."

AR M4 shopping
Thank you for the welcome. I have another experienced based opinions solicited request since the first one went so well and thanks again for the great feedback on the pistols. Is the below M4 kit by PSA FOR $499 worth owning? Keep in mind I am a technician and me and the.boys dont mind minor issues or blems but dependability and decent service life is important.

The most important issues at this point are don't I need a lower rail for the upper to attach lights ect? Also there seems to be no rear carry handle/ sight to match that M16 style front site if that is pictured same as what they are shipping in the kit. I need a holo site or something correct? Thirdly, it seems I need an assembly/ take down tool correct? Deluxe ones I see are reccomended for about $35 right? Fourthly, I have used an FFL but he is a bit high. Who in Tulsa area is good to deal with and least expensive? Any other issues I am missing? Good help is greatly appreciated! Thank you kindly.

Dont need an FFL for this as there is no lower. If you bought a lower, then yes, you need an FFL, Fat Boy Tactical or Franson Firearms will take care of you on that. Or you can just buy one of their lowers, FBT has some Anderson Lowers for $70 last I checked, that would put you into this for right under $585

A rail is the most versatile method for mounting a light. If you dont want to mess with removing the gas block there are several manufacturers that make rail systems that can be installed without that hassle. Of those I recommend a Knights Armament RAS. they are sturdy and well thought out. they can be had as seconds or used for $100 to $150. Im sure there are others, but I have no direct experience with them so I will reserve comment. here is a vid describing the install of a RAS.

As far as a rear sight is concerned. pretty much any full size back up iron sight (BUIS) will work. for the budget minded I would look at the Magpul MBUS sight. they can be had for about $50 or $60. Or, you can drop some more coin on a Troy BUIS which are pretty much bullet proof for around $100 to $110. There are a multitude of BUIS on the market in fixed or folding. Stick with a name brand and you will do fine., just make sure it is a full size model so the height is correct.

you probably dont need an assembly tool to build your lower, but the process is easier with one. A correctly sized roll punch, or spring loaded punch is a must, IMHO. you will need a small hammer, a thin flat blade screwdriver, whatever screwdriver fits the grip screw, and an AR tool like this one, http://www.gggaz.com/ar-15-multi-tool.html. you could probably borrow one though. however, once bitten by this bug you will do more, so buying one is probably a good idea.

There are sponsors on this site who can do the FFL thing for you, and you can rest assured they wont screw you over. I would look them up and let them know what you want. They can also guide you in your quest to build your gun. nothing beats some hands on demonstration and guidance when it come to building an AR. sure, there are videos all over youtube, but if you dont have a decent reference in which to judge their technique then it is probably best to seek out some one on one attention for your first go.

In my opinion the long shipping times from PSA are completely overblown. I have had dozens of transactions with the company since December. Are the Brownells? Well no, but I did receive every order within two and a half weeks and some much quicker than that. I don't mind waiting for quality.
