We had a smaller one go what seemed like overnight about two weeks ago and now today I walked out to find our larger one looking pretty distressed.
Do you all think this one is dying or maybe just getting too much sun?

I’d think all the water we’ve had lately would have it more healthy but the leaves are wilting, turning upside down, crumpling and dropping.

sycamore? those sycamores are top feeders, i.e. their root system is close to the surface, no big tap root. at least that's what i remember reading at some time or another.

I’m not even sure of the type, it does have a shallow root system though. It doesn’t look too bad yet, I’m just paranoid after losing out last one. It’s kinda hard to see what I’m referring to in the photos but here’s a little better photo.

From my Googling, I can only really come up with too much water being the culprit that seems to match the symptoms. Can’t really control it unfortunately. I guess it’ll dry up soon. ‍

That’s a maple. They have a diffuse xylem system. You almost literally cannot drown them. It looks like the leaves are just curling a bit from the heat and sun. Look at it when it’s dark and the leaves will look 100% normal.
