When you work in a physically-demanding field, any injury is potentially career-ending; therefore, you're well-advised to make whatever you can, as early as you can. That goes for everybody from professional athletes to pipeline welders. While I rarely make an effort to watch a game (sports just aren't my thing), I'm really astonished at the level of hate he received when he left. KD was a decent player, no doubt. But OKC's troubles began back when Harden was still here. He left and everyone was good with that. It was a career move for him and it's worked out well. But, OKC still couldn't win a game unless Russ and KD were on the court. They counted on them too much and didn't develop their other players. Heck, even I could see that KD and Russ were butting heads over who was the superstar at that time. KD did what he thought he had to do career wise. I'm glad he got his rings. He always wanted them. But you realize that with the type of foot injury he has, his days playing competitively are numbered. His build lends to another injury that will sideline him eventually. When? It's anybody's guess. But the level of hatred that spewed from the community was just childish. He did a lot of good while he was here, helping the community and the kids. I even loved his restaurant. But people stopped going based on it's name. It changed hands and name and people still wouldn't go, so now it's closed and some crap hole chain is there.
While I was sad to see him leave, I know why he did it. I don't blame him. Every player out there is looking out for number one first and foremost. I seem to remember we were on the other side of the fence when the SuperSonics first came to OKC. Now we are eating crow.
Kevin, we don't care...STHU.
This dude has to be one of the most insecure sports personalities that I have ever seen.
