In a perfect world the LE's would have known there was only one perp. They would have been aware his only weapon being used for numerous asaults was a bicycle lock on the end of an arm long chain. It would have been known to them that the wall behind the perp was just a bit of sheetrock and that citizens were behind it. The world isn't perfect. Prayers for the innocent civilian.

He should go to prison.
But he won’t. No one cares when white kids are killed.

Of course not. No one at all cares about white kids. And why be objective when over-the-top hyperbole, speculation and a strong sense of moral superiority will make you feel so much better?

I find it pretty disturbing that you're ready to convict the officer that fired the shot of some sort of crime regardless of what all the facts say and regardless of the fact there was likely no criminal intent on the part of the officer who fired the fatal shot.

FFS...

It's single edged sword for the non LEO wanting to play sheepdog, you involve yourself in someone else's fight and screw up, you get sued and go to jail.

For the LEO it's different, it tends to be more of a two edged sword. Because of the nature of the job LEO's typically are given more latitiude for error than the non LEO. That said, because we have given powers and authority to the LEO that non LEO's don't have we tend to hold LEO's to a higher standard of care. Just depends on which bucket you put in the well.
