I handled the browning 1911/22 today.

It is so cute....

That thing was little bitty. It was very light and like 1/2 the size of an actual 1911. This was the first 1911/22 that I have seen. Are they all mini-me sized like the browning??

I don't think they are all smaller in measurement. I'm pretty sure they will all be lighter though given the caliber and prices I've seen.

I do know that Sooner State Pawn had one. They might carry them regularly but I'm not sure. They also seem to have good prices. Didn't care for them at first because the ad on the side of the posts is annoying but after buying a couple items from them I really like dealing with em.

I saw on SSP's website that they have a puma in stock just like the one buds has but it's used and the same price as new from buds. After driving down there and taking the family out to eat I'd be in for what the price of shipping and the ffl transfer would cost. Plus my wife doesn't seem so keen on driving down there.

Anybody ever buy from whitey's pawn? Gun genie says they have one there but I've never even been in the place and I'm not sure how accurate the gun genie thing is.

I had one of the first round Chiappa 1911-22s. It was fun, easy to clean, and didn't screw up too terribly often, but it was definitely a cheap gun. I hated that it didn't come already sighted. I know it was cheap, but I can't justify spending $100+ on something I have to grind the sights down on. I think they offer a "tactical" version with better sights. I'd spend the extra money to get that model if I was gonna buy one again.

Well in fairness I think it's hard for local dealers to compete with Bud's pricing. I didnt take into consideration your location. That's my bad. I know RedDog on here has good deals on many of his items that I would compare to the deals I've found here locally but I don't know what all he carries. Just food for thought. I personally don't like the idea of dealing with ordering online and dealing with transfers to a dealer. I've never done it so my opinion here is pretty much pointless. In fact, I'm curious of why I'm still typing.
