Just wondering what bullet, powder combo any of you guys use? New to primitive hunting, just checking before I start experimenting!

I shoot a Rem, but my go to load is Rem 209 primer, 100gr of Triple 7 with a 250gr .45 bullet and sabot. Great thing about black powder is it's fairly safe to 'experiemnt' with charges. 70 - 120 gr of powder to find what your rifle likes and gives you best accuracy. Bullets available up to 350gr.

I LOVE the smell of smoke in the morning. HAVE FUN.

Do you think a 11 cap will ignite 30 grain pellets, or do I need to get a 209 conversion kit?
Any help would be appreciated!

They should work just fine. My buddy shoots a .54 cal Hawken and uses the #11 with (I believe) 150grs FF.
