I made a trade this evening for a Marlin Model 60 for my Son (10yrs old) and I to shoot with.

He's been learning on a Daisy powerline 880 and a Daisy "buck". While he was very excited to have a "real gun" to shoot with me, he did express the fact that he preferred "tru-glo" style sights to traditional iron sights.

What kind of options do I have for possibly swapping out sights...or maybe mounting a scope to give him something more akin to what he's used to?

A decent scope and you and he will both be surprised at what you can hit. I had a model 60 and wish I'd never gotten rid of it. A buddy and I used to shoot at spent shotgun shells from 50 and 100 yards. Very accurate!

Back in the day those style sights were my favorite open sites.
These days I can barely see the end of the barrel.....:rollingla
I always felt that teaching a kid on open/iron sights was doing them a favor.
Then when they moved up to optics they appreciated them better and if
anything every happen to the glass they'd still be able to carry on.
