RIP to a Globetrotter legend. He and Curly Neal were my favorites growing up.

Man, I remember watching him when I was a kid.
Back in the day, a lot of the oil companies had semi pro basketball teams.
The globetrotters played the Conoco team here in Ponca and made them look really bad while putting on a great show.

I got to see the HGT back when I was a little kid. Those guys were fun to watch.

Yep. I saw them a couple of times. Meadowlark Lemon could make a half court hook shot damn near every time he tried.

It was said by a couple of the NBA greats that Meadowlark was the greatest person to ever touch a basketball.

Do the Reds ever get to win one against the Globetrotters? Never did when we saw em. I was lucky enough to see Meadowlark, Curly and that crew in the 70s as a little kid.
