Our politicians (Oklahoma's) need to figure out how to court those companies with high paying jobs. Bass Pro is great and all, but their wages are terrible. Skilled machinist, gunsmiths, engravers and finishers. THOSE are the jobs we need.

I wonder if Mossberg even considered Oklahoma before they made the decision - based on corporate tax rates, I seriously doubt it.

Those "skilled positions" will not be paid the way may think. Texas is notorious for bringing that skill form Mexico then send them back across the border when their shift is over, or, hire the immigrant that is living in Texas already for 6-7 bucks an hour. Avg skilled labor in Texas makes no where near what they do in many states.

Perry does not want to have that conversation when he is out trying to move companies to Texas from other states. Behind closed doors he is quick to note to a company how cheap labor is in his state is though.

I am not sure how it balances out, but Texas seems to have less tax on most things. If you have to pay less taxes you can live equally well on less wages. Good Move Mossberg. Sometimes a few people stand up for what they think.

Compared to a lot of states, OK seems to do a lot of things right. How does the state not have someone or a tea, of individuals that actively pursues and markets to the firearms industries to move to OK? Rick Perry has made multiple trips to Ca and other states stealing business and has been very successful.

I don't understand how we don't go after them.

The state actively goes after oil interests as it should, but we need to look outside the oil and gas industry to make our state a destination for industry's so our economy doesn't have the highs and lows associated with the oil and gas industry's.
