Not only different calibers including, but not necessarily limited to, 22, 380, 9mm, 38, 357 mag, 357 sig, 40, 41 mag, 44 mag, 454 casull, 10mm, 45 colt, 45 acp., but a Glock 27 and 33. I know they are the same weapon, but I bought the 27 from Bud's and had it shipped to my FFL and he ordered a 33 for me without my knowledge because he could get it in the same configuration for $200 less. He is a real handy guy to have around! I don't think a person can have too many different calibers laying around because you may not be able to find ammo for the one or two you decide to keep. It is a good excuse when the wife asks anyway.

Usually I have only had one gun to worry about. Luckily I find myself having 4 different guns. Now is my problem. I have a G22 (40cal) P229 (40cal) EMP (9mm) and PM9 (9mm). I put my PM up for trade for a PM40, G27, and other pocket size 40 cal. I got a hell of a deal on a G33 (357 sig) and have decided to go with it, since I can throw a 40 cal barrel in it at a later date.

My question is, how many have multiple guns with multiple calibers? 9mm, 40, and 357 sig is quite a variety. Still trying to decide if I really want to go with the 357 sig or not. Thoughts? Opinions?

No caliber stopping power debates, just a simple multiple caliber arsenal discussion. Thanks.

4 .22
1 .380
1 .38/.357
1 9mm
1 .40
2 .45

This includes the wife's and mine.

I had the same thing happen when I got a sweet deal on a .40 cal. everything I had ammo for was .45, 9mm, .357/.38, 5.56 and .22. I started to start buying .40 ammo but desided to turn the gun for a profit and reinvest in another .45 .

At any point in time, ammo for one particular caliber or another may be in short supply. I always have handguns in .22, 9mm, .38/.357 Mag, .40, .44 Mag and .45 ACP. While I may dabble in other calibers from time to time, these are the mainstays that will keep you up and running regardless of the shortage. In the recent past, pretty much all of them except 9mm were hard to find, and it wasn't exactly plentiful.

While it's a pain to stock multiple calibers, I'd never drop down to just one or two for the reasons stated.
