I honestly have no idea.

Well, it is said that they only use milkweeds as a host. Have any of those close to the house? I wonder how far those little caterpillars crawled before pupating.

I have confused the caterpillar of a swallow tail with that of a monarch before. They are both striped yellow, white, black, sometimes greenish. But the monarch has little antennae on both ends. Swallowtail larvae (caterpillars) eat up my fennel and dill every year...never seen any monarch larvae :(

Beware! It was left by the blood moon. It's a pod that will shoot spiders or snakes at you when you walk by.

Or, maybe it's one of the body snatcher pods.

I'm going with this ^^^.

I was at the farm all day today, and the trees were full of the migrating butterfly's. Kind of surreal walking through them, fluttering all around me.
