I used to have the info for someone that could do this, but can't find it. I want to have a stock 10/22 barrell cut down to 16" and threaded....can anybody here on the board do this...or have the info for someone local?

That site is weak sauce....Maybe he'll do a little work for me in exchange for some web-fu? Haha...

I have a 26" barrel I want cut down to 18" and installed on a Savage/Stevens action. What does something like that usually run?

I'm debating between buying the barrel vice/wrench and swapping the barrel myself, but if the cost is the same...I'll leave it to the pros. I'm definitely not shortening it myself.

I think thread jobs are $75 w/o protector and $100 with.

Action jobs and barrel installs were around $200 I believe on my Rem 700.

Kewl. I actually emailed him and he shot me a quote on the work within a few hours. Pretty reasonable...less than the cost of the tools to do it myself. The only bad part is the turnaround, but that is to be expected, I guess.

Plus I've read that cutting / recrowning properly is not exactly a home job.
