Need help with 22lr AR pistol

My F.I.L wants a 22lr AR pitol. He is looking at the Chiappa. My question is, does anyone know of a short 22lr upper, or a place to get a cheap barrel?
I thought if I could find the upper at a good price, I would just build him one on one of my lowers. If anyone knows of any good 22lr AR type pistols that are out there, please tell. I want to get one in before Christmas. Thanks. Guys

Yep. If I could get the upper at a good price, I would put it on one of my lowers, and give to him. I am now leaning to the 15-22 pistol. I just need to find out who has them.

I think the MP 15 22 pistol is around 450 - 500. Check them out on Gunbroker. Post if you get one I think they would be awesome.

I am using a CMMG 'Wasp" barrel in a .22 1/16 Twist on my AR Pistol, Cut to 5 1/2" ...... works great with and without the 'CAN' on it. I also have the Spikes STR 22 Cabine ...... another great shooter .....

I think it is down to the S&W 15-22 pistol now. I just have to find one. If any of you guys see one around OKC, please let me know.
