It’s possible he lost his legs because they had to use vasopressors to maintain a BP, not from the flea bite itself. A skin infection (caused by a flea or a cut, etc) can lead to sepsis. Septic shock necessitated the pressors, which caused extremities to become necrotic. Sepsis kills a lot of people. This guy survived it despite the sepsis, multi organ failure, ARDS/vent, dialysis, etc.
