So... now who's responsible? The shop inheritors didn't turn in all they needed to, but the ATF has failed to properly secure their property.

But on the bright side this will make a great example of why we don't need to outlaw paperless FTF transactions

Credit card slips for many years now show only the last four digits of the card number. Credit card slips old enough to have the entire number printed on them are likely not still valid these many years later. Cancelled checks? The people who wrote them may have already passed on. 4473's from many years ago used as a sort of back door gun registry?? Is Alex Jones in on this?? The ATF does not have the manpower nor the man hours necessary for such a thing. A tempest in a tea pot....
The records must be kept 20 years by the FFL or be turned in to the ATF, if the FFL goes out of business. The ATF can look at the FFL's records anytime they want and they are routinely checked/audited. I have had two guns traced back to me by the ATF using the 4473's in the past.
