The whole lock, stock and barrel is pretty obvious, but what is the whole kit and kaboodle?
True blue is in reference the color of the Yankee uniform during the Civil War. One that was "true blue" was loyal to the Union. There are a lot that we have from the era of the Revolutionary War, as well as the Civil War.
I think that's a British reference... kit is your things typically referred to in military. I have no idea what a kaboodle is...
