Outdoor rocking chair finish?

Wife has a rocking chair on the back porch she loves. I have been using poly on it but seems like every year it needs to be redone. Any ideas for a better finish I can use over the polyurethane? It is supposedly outdoor poly but it sure does not hold up well.

Spar Urethane is what you need for outdoors. Get much of the old stuff off before you apply the new.

That is what I have been using I believe. I will check in the morning but almost positive.

Yes it is Spar Urethane. Not sure if I got a bad can or just were the rocker sits on the porch is the problem. I think I will buy a fresh can and try that.

It’s a clear exterior finish. If you get a couple of years out of it you can count yourself as fortunate, particularly if it gets any UV at all.

It does. I may have to try and talk her into paint.

If it can be carried inside when not being used the finish would last exponentially longer.
