When I was about 10 or 12 years old, my father gave me a leather trifold wallet, a USA made Old Timer pocket knife (Stockman) and a cotton handkerchief. He said that every man should always carry these three items in his pockets on a daily basis.

Since that day, I've carried some sort of those 3 items daily. My preferences have obviously changed somewhat in the type of pocket knife, wallet and hankie, but yeah, I still tote a version of those three items every single day of my life.

Since I discovered them, probably a little over a year or so ago, I've been buying and carrying hanks from the husband and wife internet business known as GondekEDC. Max and Lauren Gondek are from Milwaukee, Wisconsin and they make and sell hanks for $10 each. They measure in at about 7.5x7.5, have a various pattern on one side and soft, smooth microfiber on the other. They have a ton of different patterns and dedigns and I think they are super cool as well as handy and utilitarian.

They even have a subscription called "The Hank of the Month Club" where for 10 bucks, they'll send you an exclusive pattern that is only available to the HOTMC members.

Furthermore, they can even make pouches, bags and other things that you can have made of that material (if you're a member) or from any other pattern they have in stock.

Anyways, Mrs. GED was asking me about them and I told her. Being the penny pincher that she is (this gal can squeeze a nickel until the Buffalo pukes) she declared, "I can make those."

So, one night in Hobby Lobby with her, I made my way to the fabric department and found a pattern that I absolutely fell in love with. ❤️

Here's the finished product...

Hey, I would carry one of those, really nifty. Like you I am an old guy and dad gave me first pocket knife when I was 8, had a wallet for ID and papers, a couple bills every once in a while when I did not spend it right away at 9, and with allergies, always had a handkerchief since I was younger than that. Allergies are much better now at 76yo, but having a hanky is still handy to have around. Yep, and that print pattern would fit me also. How about talking Mrs GED into making up a few of those in her spare time and putting them out here for us to order. Ha Ha. Very nifty, thanks for posting.

I'm actually trying to talk her into that. Especially if she gets them perfect. When she does, I'll send you one. :thumb:

Hankies,,,
What a concept.

When I was a young Airman on TDY to Japan,,,
It just so happened that I had a cold and used a handkerchief.

The Japanese man who was my escort/translator told me,,,
Japanese people do not use handkerchiefs at all,,,
When I asked him why, he replied.

You're wiping a waste product of your body onto a cloth,,,
Then putting it back into your pocket.

Would you do that same thing after wiping your ass?

Honestly,,,
I've never used a hankie since.
