I thought it would be neat to start a "cruise line" up where we all sail out into international waters. But, we bring with us our AR15 uppers and stripped lower of our choosing. Out in international waters, we use the mill that is aboard the ship to convert the lowers to M16s. Then we put in the M16 parts provided by the cruise line and putt around off the coast of Somalia in international waters. Then we blast the hell out of any would be captors. After the fun on the way home. We remove the M16 parts out of the lowers and torch them in half. Then the customer gets to keep the destroyed M16 lower as a souvenir from their trip.

Great idea. Unfortunately, you would have to torch cut them into 4 pieces now.

I like the idea Dustin, for some reason I thought there was some sort of international law about weapons while out on the high seas. I cant remember it off hand though.

The pirates killed the hostages and then surrendered (most of them at least). They said that it's a new rule, if anyone attempts a rescue, they kill the hostages.

I have a simple solution, a declaration of sorts. No hostages rescued, no pirates captured.

If troops board and the hostages are not alive and well, sweep the deck with automatic fire and throw the (pirate) bodies overboard. It's not as 'extreme' as the old ways, of course, but that means there are less reasons it should be considered an 'unacceptable' solution.

It's not all that different from the Russian way, and I don't think the hostages were even harmed in that case, were they? Of course, the Ruskies did the smart thing and denied they had anything to do with it. The pirates, who are on the open ocean every day, simply "got lost" and died at sea (or something to that effect).

I bet they would reconsider their new rule after it happened a few times.
