When I read the trash talk in this thread I find it ironic that GHW Bush was instrumental in the 60's welcoming the racist/segregationist/anti-semitic Dixiecrats into the Republican party and who, over time, have made the Republican party what it is today.

Republicans on the whole are usually staunchly pro Israel? How do you see them as Anti Semitic?

i think his comment was in regards to southerns during the political realignment in the 60s specifically. And there are most definitely people on the right (and left) who are outwardly pro israel but perhaps not fully supportive of Jews in other areas
