I’m going to order some cheddite 209 primers and drive up to pick them up on my next trip.
Primer prices are coming down. I started driving up there when they were in a wood barn for a warehouse 30 some years ago using DOS software on their Tanny computer. 2 employees.
That has morphed into a major shipping and receiving business with a dozen or so employees.
We(5 of us) made an order last spring that needed a pallet to load out all the supplies, so we got to go back into the warehouse. I was shocked at how much reloading supplies are stored there, and it was all sold with backorders running months out.
Comes in one day, and ships out the next.
They are showing up more and more now. I was there to pick up clothing items and just stopped over for a look. Not a super deal but a few extra dollars and didn't have to drive anywhere extra so thought it was a win.
Never ordered from Powder Valley, where are they located?
Winfield, KS. My hometown; my folks still live there. Every so often I place a small order and have them pick it up to save the shipping.
I’ve spent THOUSANDS of dollars with PV over the years, and I just learned last year that picking up is an option. It’s a little out of my way, but as I said previously, I intend to make my first visit to them when I come back up next time.
Once upon a time you could place a order with PV and they would bring it to the Wannamaker show saved shipping and hzmat fees .
