It can be done, but only if both axles are in mud, snow or some type of soft terrain etc. It is not something you want to do normally or on hard surfaces. It was basically a truck that had an axle swap but didnt change the gears to a matching set yet. I have seen a transfer case explode doing this on solid ground.

It might trigger a ABS fualt due to the rolling circumfrence being different, this vehicle does not use a cable for the speedo. It should be a sensor on the transmission.
