I have recarpeted some bunks before. But i only used stainless steel staples and some screws and pulled the carpet as tight as i could by hand. Is there some kind of glue or adhesive spray that can be used to bond the carpet to the bunk better that will stand the underwater treatment or is pulling it tight and stapling it the only way??

I've always used liquid nails to bond the carpet to the board. I don't know if it's needed and I can't really say how much it helps. Just what I've always done.

i've done quite a few bunks, plus many seats for different things, and a few other upholstery things, but I always wished I could've just went somewhere and bought some pre-done bunks....I'm sure I could have, although by the time I found the place, drove to get them and drove back, I could've done it myself....

I always just used staples...
