I am starting a thread to post loads for practical, higher volume loading for 3-gun or any other practical type rifle work.

Please always check with the books and never exceed saami specs for a load. Now the disclaimer is in here, let's get it going.

I use a 20" 1-8" twist barrel but have found 55's work pretty darn good and allow me to keep my 300 yard zero and same point of aim at 50.

Hornady 55fmj (bulk) on 25.0 grains of accurate 2460 with mixed brass and cci primer yields me ~3080 fps with nice accuracy.

Hornady 55fmj (bulk) on 26.4 grains of Winchester 748 with mixed brass and cci primers yield me ~3030 with nice accuracy as well.

Both are ~39,000 cup and work the comp real well.

For longer range I will be loading the same 2460 load with Nosler Ballistic Tip 55grain.

Remember, always work a load up from minimum per the manuals.

A highway near you.
In my Ruger Mini-14GB with 1x7 twist it seems that 23.2 grains of AA2230 and bulk 62 grain FMJBT bullets give me my best accuracy as far as volume loading goes. Accurate(at least at 100yds) and reliable.About 2800 f.p.s. I use CCI primers and mixed(mostly military) brass.

Just sighted these in the other day and let me tell you. The 748 load was 3" at 300 with iron sights and a 10-12 mph wind. That is awesome, but.....

The 2460 loads, and Scott was there and can verify, was LESS then 1.5 inches at 300 yards. We covered 2 shots with one paster and it was less then a half inch to the other one. This was off a shooting bag and a 1 shot cold barrel..

I think I found my load. Now if I can just find 2460 without having to order it through PV..

MG or Hornady 55gr and 25gr AA2230 is my blasting load. The best part is it shoots 1" at 100. I get 2930 out of a 16" and have not run them in my 18" yet.

The same powder charge under a Nosler 55gr BT will get me 4" at 300 out of that same crappy 16" bushmaster barrel.
