I am starting a thread to post loads for practical, higher volume loading for 3-gun or any other practical type rifle work.
Please always check with the books and never exceed saami specs for a load. Now the disclaimer is in here, let's get it going.
I use a 20" 1-8" twist barrel but have found 55's work pretty darn good and allow me to keep my 300 yard zero and same point of aim at 50.
Hornady 55fmj (bulk) on 25.0 grains of accurate 2460 with mixed brass and cci primer yields me ~3080 fps with nice accuracy.
Hornady 55fmj (bulk) on 26.4 grains of Winchester 748 with mixed brass and cci primers yield me ~3030 with nice accuracy as well.
Both are ~39,000 cup and work the comp real well.
For longer range I will be loading the same 2460 load with Nosler Ballistic Tip 55grain.
Remember, always work a load up from minimum per the manuals.
Mike
