Just a friendly reminder that the new ATF Rule 41F goes into effect on July 13. All applications submitted after that date must include fingerprint cards, passport photos, and law enforcement notification for everyone who is allowed to possess the items (which will be especially annoying if you own them under a trust and have co-Trustees). I definitely advise getting your NFA Trust established and getting applications sent out on any NFA items you are planning on buying in the foreseeable future before this deadline.

For anyone who is interested, I write custom NFA trusts for $200. Everything can be handled over the Internet -- no need to even visit my office in person. My trusts contain provisions for easily adding and removing co-Trustees, which will let you get around the new rule as much as possible after it does go into effect, if you don't get your applications in before then. I will also amend your existing trust to this standard for the same price as a new trust.

If you are interested, or have any questions or concerns about NFA trusts, feel free to PM me, email me at henschman@hotmail.com, or call me at 405-880-0506.

    All the Best,

    Daniel Hensch

What does "submitted" mean. Does this mean postmarked or received by ATF?

Yes, the application must be postmarked by July 13 to fall under the old/current rules.

HiredHand posted a good description of what all the LEO notification entails. Basically it is just a notification -- you send them a copy of your application letting them know that someone in their jurisdiction is buying this item. No approval is required on their part. It is just so they can have an opportunity to let the ATF know if they have any info about you that would legally disqualify you from possession of the item.

You mentioned doing it over the Internet, is there a link you can add?

    Or, did I miss it?

Well I was getting ready to buy a griffin armament suppressor but ain't going to now. What a bunch of bs. The ATF just does whatever the F they please. They can just impose whatever crap they want and we have to sit back and take it.
