Sorvino was on Law & Order for a short period, 29 episodes in the beginning of the second season. He appeared between George Dzundza and Jerry Orbach. He left because the shooting schedule for a TV series was exhausting as well as a desire to preserve his vocal cords to be able to continue to sing opera. Dzundza is the only one of the three still alive.

Played a good a mafia type that's for sure, don't think I ever saw him play anything else.

He played a heroin addict in that movie The Cooler with William H. Macy. But Paulie the main boss from Goodfellas was his most memorable role. Easily in my top 5 for favorite movies ever. First Ray Liotta, now Paul Sorvino. Pesci and DeNiro are probably not far behind.
