This thread got derailed so I just wanted to say the L frame Smith 357 either the 686 or 586 is just a great revolver. They got it right on a good pre-lock 586 back in the day. The blue was great, it was like the 27.

Because it was sure pretty…. Made my hands and fingers start twitching and working…..That is awesome! I have heard many a story about him from my old man who spent 30 years in LE and was a PPC Revolver competitor, even read a few that my great grandfather had written behind some old pictures…why did you have to tell me about the 66
Yes the 586 is a beautiful gun and the pre-lock blue ones are gorgeous. And then you mention model 27….. oh my goodness…. I have one. 4”, pinned and recessed. Finish must have been real bad. Had put marks in a few places. Anyway, looks parkerized. Solid gun. My best bud gave it to me. I think it may be cerakote. Locks up tight. Super smooth trigger professionally done. Very accurate. Love it.This thread got derailed so I just wanted to say the L frame Smith 357 either the 686 or 586 is just a great revolver. They got it right on a good pre-lock 586 back in the day.
