Went to the range and had some fun with my SA Range Officer Operator and my Ruger 22/45 with the newly installed front fiber optic sights.
1st pic is the 1911 at 12 yards and 50 rounds. 2nd 1911 at 20 yards 50 rounds. 3rd is the Ruger 22/45 target with new sights 50 rounds at 20 yards.
Big improvement on seeing the sight. Need to rezero the Ruger and need to work on my trigger control where I'm not sure why I'm struggling with a 22 where my 9mm and 45's I do fine.
Suggestions good. Comments good. Let's hear what you think gun folk. Not sure why I'm all over the place with the Ruger. Need help. ada 1911 12 yards 50 rounds 1.JPG ada 1911 20 yards 50 rnds 2.JPG ada 22 45 20 yds 50 rds 3.JPG

Perhaps you shoot better with your 1911 because you've shot it more than you have the Ruger?
No doubt. I need to get more time with the ruger. Taking it to shoot every time I go now. Will be zeroing in the sights tomorrow and get used to gun again. The weight is different with the bull barrel on the 22/45. I think I just need as much trigger time as I can get.

Hmmm. Shoot that Ruger 22/45 from a rest. Start at 10 yards and see how she does. Then move it out to 20 yds and go for it. I like to stick one of those tiny little post-it-notes on a target to aim at. Aim small, miss small, right? Try that post-it-note trick and let us know how you do. Thanks for the pics. I'll be going to the range here in the next day or so and will post my targets up. Remember, aim small miss small.

I would guess youre letting your focus slip from your front sight. New gun youre wanting to see where your hits are on the target and with the new FO sight you may be seeing it in your peripheral so much easier your not concentrating on it as much. Did you shoot at Ada?
