It would be one of the few, perhaps even the only gun that I would switch to from my Glock 23 Gen 4.
I second this, including the part about regretting selling mine because I was told you could not shoot it in IDPA and expect to do well.....
The M11 IS A 228 the US ARMY uses A 228 M11 is a 228First: the M11-A1 or P229 9mm are like a laser beam as far as accuracy goes. I am also completely amazed at how fast follow up shots are.
Just to be clear, the Sig M11-A1 is NOT a P228. It is a new style non-railed 9mm P229 with a P229 new style stainless steel machined slide. It takes the new wider P229-2 9mm Mags which is why they now hold 15 vs 13 on the older P229/M11.
Do not get me wrong, this is an AMAZING pistol. It is however, a non railed P229 9mm simply marked M11-A1.
The new M11-A1/P229 9mm share the same P229 40/357 frame but the slide on the 9mm is notably thinner.
Again, I love this pistol but it is not a 228. I’ll be the odd man out and publicly blaspheme that I prefer the newer nitron coated machined stainless steel slides over the folded / welded older design.
One note of caution, Sig’s are highly addictive.
