It appears he is in custody associated with another murder. INTERNET SPECUALTION and information from another firearm web site indicates he may have owned a Glock 40 at the time of the other female homicides.

2 plus 2 equals 4 maybe...

Official court documents show a closer look into the case of Ashley Taylor

Murder case files reveal gruesome details

OSBI agent believes remains found in burn pile are Ashley Taylor

Official documents in the first degree murder case against Kevin Joe Sweat reveal gruesome details in the apparent death of Ashley Celeste Taylor.

Defendant Kevin Sweat allegedly told lawmen that he cut the victim’s throat July 17th and pushed her into Nichols Park lake. However, an extensive search of the lake did not produce the 23-year-old Okmulgee woman’s body.

Sweat also told lawmen he burned notebooks and video tapes in a fire on the north side of his father’s residence near Weleetka. A search of that site by OPD officers and OSBI agents uncovered adult human bones and pieces of prescription eye glasses consistent with Ashley Taylor’s glasses. The lawmen also recovered pieces of female clothing from the burn pile. These and other faces are outlined in public records in Okfuskee County district court clerk’s office. Together, they provide enough evidence to convince prosecutors to file a formal murder charge against Sweat. The defendant remains in the Okmulgee County Jail and is being held without bond. At some point, he could be transferred to the Okfuskee County Jail.

On Friday, OSBI agent Kurt Titsworth revealed the following facts in an affidavit filed in Okfuskee County district court clerk’s office:
On July 30, 2011, Okmulgee Police Chief, Joe Prentice requested OSBI investigative assistance in the disappearance of Ashley Taylor, WF, DOB: 11/08/87.

On July 29, 2011, Ashley's mother, Patricia Taylor reported Ashley missing to the Okmulgee Police Department. Patricia last saw Ashley on July 15, 2011 in Okmulgee. Ashley told Patricia that she and her boy friend Kevin Sweat were traveling to Louisiana on Sunday, July 17, 2011 to get married. Ashley and Kevin had planned to return home on July 29. 2011. Ashley had told Patricia that after she and Kevin got married she would call her. Patricia never heard from Ashley.

On July 30, 2011, Okmulgee Police Officers interviewed Kevin regarding Ashley's disappearance. Kevin told the officers that on the morning of July 17, 2011, that he and Ashley had left Okmulgee in route to Louisiana to get married. As they were driving south on Highway 75 between Okmulgee and Schulter they got into an argument. Ashley asked Kevin to let her out of the car. Kevin pulled to the shoulder of the highway then stopped. Ashley got out of the car. That was the last time Kevin saw Ashley.

On August 2, 2011, Agent Titsworth interviewed Kevin. Kevin told Titsworth that after he had let Ashley out of the car on the morning of the July 17, 2011, he then drove to Nichols Park in Henryetta, Okmulgee County, Oklahoma. Kevin stayed at the park until 1200 hours. He then drove to his father Pat Sweat's house near Weleetka, Oklahoma in Okfuskee County. Kevin used dry grass and wood to build a fire on the north side of the house. Kevin burned notebooks and video tapes in the fire. Kevin stayed at the house until about 1500 hours. He then drove home.

On August 3, 2011, Agent Titsworth and OSBI Agent David Real interviewed Kevin. Kevin changed his story regarding Ashley's disappearance. Kevin told Titsworth and Real that on the moming of Sunday July 17, 2011. that he and Ashley left their apartment in Okmulgee. Kevin drove Ashley to Nichols Park in Henreytta. Kevin told Ashley that he wasn't going to marry her. They got into an argument. Ashley hit Kevin. Kevin pulled a pocket knife out of his pocket. He threw the knife at Ashley. The knife hit Ashley in the face. Kevin told Ashley "Why don't you kill yourself”. Ashley picked up the knife. She then walked out on the pier at the lake.

Kevin followed Ashley out onto the pier. Ashley cut herself with the knife. She then fell on the pier. Kevin picked up the knife. Ashley was still alive. Kevin cut Ashley's throat then pushed her into the lake. Ashley didn't come back up. Kevin got into his car then left.
On August 4, 2011, Law Enforcement Officers conducted an extensive search of the Lake and pier. Ashley was not found.

On August 5th and August 6th, 2011, OSBI Agents along with Okmulgee Police Officers conducted a search at Pat Sweat's property near Weleetka, Oklahoma. OSBI Agents recovered several fragmented pieces of adult human bones. pieces of prescription eye glasses, and pieces of female clothing from a burn pile on the north side of the house. The glasses were consistent as being the prescription glasses of Ashley Taylor.

Agent Titsworth believes that the human bones along with other items that were found in the burn pile are consistent to be evidence of Ashley Taylor's body.

Based upon the agent’s sworn affidavit, District Attorney Max Cook filed Case No. CF·2011 in Okfuskee County district court. It is a first degree murder charge against the defendant, Kevin Joe Sweat

THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA,
Plaintiff,
VS.
KEVIN JOE SWEAT
COUNT 1: MURDER IN THE FIRST DEGREE - 21 0.5. § 701.7 a FELONY
STATE OF OKLAHOMA, COUNTY OF OKFUSKEE:

I, Max Cook, the undersigned District Attorney of said County, in the name and by the authority, and on behalf of the State of Oklahoma, give information that in said County of Okfuskee and in the State of Oklahoma, KEVIN JOE SWEAT, did then and there unlawfully, willfully, knowingly and wrongfully commit the crime(s) of:

COUNT 1: MURDER IN THE FIRST DEGREE - a FELONY, on or about the 17th day of July, 2011, by deliberately and intentionally taking away the life of a human being. with malice aforethought, did then and there willfully, unlawfully and feloniously without authority of law, effect the death of ASHLEY TAYLOR by inflicting certain mortal wounds in the body of said ASHLEY TAYLOR from which mortal wounds the same did languish and die on or about the 17th day of July, 2011.

The case has been investigated by the Okmulgee Police Department, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, the Henryetta Police Department, with assistance from the Medical Examiner’s Office in Tulsa.

In addition to Police Chief Joe Prentice, other OPD officers involved in the case include: Patricia Taylor, Toni King, James Ables, Lyndon Spears, Jimmy Sanders, and Tristan Walker.

The lone Henrryetta Police Officer identified in the case is Robert Health.

The OSBI has moved into the lead role in the investigation due to the still uncertain question of jurisdiction. Despite the filing of murder charges, there is still plenty of investigative work to be completed by the agents and officers. Based upon available evidence, they will attempt to official identify the human remains found at the burn site. They will also want to determine where the death took place - likely in either Okfuskee or Okmulgee county.

Confirmation on the identity of the human remains will be delayed until the OSBI lab work is completed. However, all the available evidence points to the victim being 23-year-old Ashley Celeste Taylor.

Guy worked at the Subway here in Henryetta. I chit chatted with him everytime he was working when I went in there. He seemed kinda off/ weird but didnt seem like a killer. However the rumor around this area is they actually still dont know who killed those girls in Weleetka but they are using this guy as the fall guy.

How would they have the serial number of the gun used if they don't have a name? I am thinking they have a suspect, pulled 4473 records and are looking for that glock.

More than likely Kevin Sweat bought a Glock 22 and later sold it. If they can locate the gun, OSBI will run ballistics on it and could link him to the murder of the two girls if the recovered slugs and spent case match the Glock 22 that Kevin Sweat used to own.

Other than being in the same County, I don't see how the crimes are related. Kevin Sweat, if guilty is a scum-bag and is capable of killing anybody so I can see why the OSBI is doing what they are doing.

The crimes are related by the fact that Sweat's parent's and grandparents live within throwing distance of where the two girls were murdered.

That and the fact that Ashley's body was evidently taken to Sweat's parent's and burned around the house.

That and the fact that after looking at Sweat's devianart page, they probably thought he does fit the sociopathic killer profile.
